What is Plan Design?
Plan Design is the process of configuring the benefits portion of a health plan. Areas such as deductible, coinsurance, office visit copay, and prescription drug co-pay can have a substantial impact on the cost of a plan.
PeopleManage Pro offers some of the most innovative plan designs in the industry. By studying how your employees use their health benefits, we are able to design a plan that lowers their out of pocket expenses while reducing the overall cost of the health plan. Have you ever heard of a deductible report? The deductible report is available from your health carrier and provides you insight into what percentage of your workforce had sufficient claims to exceed their deductible. In most cases, less than 20 percent of your employees will exceed their deductible in a calendar year. In other words, roughly 80 percent of your employees are paying out of pocket for most of their health expenses. This is one of the areas we can provide substantial relief to your employees. Our plan design focuses on reducing out of pocket expenses while making sure the plan is as efficient as possible. A successful health plan starts with a successful enrollment. Our enrollment specialists work diligently to insure your employees understand their benefits plan and that paperwork is filled out correctly. They also coordinate with the health carrier to provide the necessary information for employees to take to their spouses in order to decide if enrollment in the company sponsored health plan is right for them.
Online Benefits Guide
Every client is provided an online benefits guide for their employees to access information on the health plan. With the online benefits guide, employees, and their spouses, can study their benefits plan, download claims forms, find contact numbers, research wellness topics, and watch for upcoming educational seminars. The online benefits guide is a living site that provides your employees the most up to date information regarding the benefits program. PeopleManage Pro can manage the online benefits guide for you or we can provide the HR director or a member of your staff access to make changes to the site. A key component of every successful benefits plan is providing employees with access to health information. In-House Clinic
For clients with 300 employees in one location, PeopleManage Pro can provide an in-house clinic for exclusive use by your employees. The In-House Clinic includes a nurse, video conference equipment, and a series of traditional and digital diagnostic tools enabling the nurse or doctor to evaluate a wide variety of potential issues. Simply provide us with available office space and we'll do the rest. The PeopleManage Pro In-House Clinic is one of the greatest tools available for increasing productivity and convenience. Most employees lose between 3-5 hours of work for a 5-10 minute doctor's visit. Imagine the savings of money and time for the company and employee with access to a medical professional through the company's In-House Clinic.
eHealth / Telemedicine
In partnership with the Phonoscope Health Network, PeopleManage Pro has developed the world's most innovative solution for efficient and convenient delivery of health care. As stated in an article by Cynthia Radke, “The Importance of Telehealth,” “Consumers use the emergency room for primary care to avoid taking off from work costing the employers millions of dollars annually. For privately insured individuals, 63 percent have used the emergency room because it is more convenient than going to the doctor’s office and 51 percent use the emergency room because their symptoms occurred at night or on a weekend (“Overuse of Emergency Department among Insured Californians,” October 2006 Mercer Human Resources Consulting, January 2006). In the same article Radke states, “According to the American Medical Association up to 70 percent of doctor office visits and 40 percent of emergency room visits were unnecessary. These conditions could have been handled effectively with a telemedicine consultation while matching the appropriate healthcare resource to the problem.”
PeopleManage Pro has developed a suite of eHealth services designed to reduce cost to your self funded health plan. How does our system work:
Employers can add the PeopleManage Pro eHealth Suite of services to their existing health plan without changing their carrier, broker, or plan.
Employer adds the In-House Clinic, House Call Service, or both to their existing plan. PeopleManage Pro trains employes on the convenience of using the In-House Clinic or House Call Service for most medical needs. By helping employees avoid facilities such as the Emergency Room or General Doctor's office, plans often realize a 10-25% reduction in claims activity.
All medical information is stored in a HIPAA approved digital medical record available for future access by the employee or a physician who would like to review the client's file.
The Family Practice Physician assigned to your company will have no more than 1500 patients to service. Employees can develop a relationship with the doctor and nurse assigned to your company. Should your doctor visit with the employee and advise additional services or testing, they will quickly advise a number of facilities within short distance of your employee's home or office that are in-network providers on the company's health plan. For example, if your company sponsored plan is a PPO providing access to the UnitedHealthcare network, the eHealth physician will refer your employees to the 2-3 closest facilities available to obtain the necessary services prescribed that are in-network providers on the UnitedHealthcare network.
In addition to diagnosis, our doctors also have the ability to prescribe medication to your employees. The prescription can then be delivered to the office or home or available for pick-up at a pharmacy of choice on the employees way home.
The PeopleManage Pro eHealth Suite also provides your company with in-house disease management and wellness. As a result of the convenience of the In-House Clinic, employees are much more likely to pursue a semi-annual physical, as well as regular follow-up for treatment or recovery of disease.
Employees also have the flexbility of scheduling service of the In-House Clinic or the House Call Nurse electronically. Our unique scheduling software allows your employees to select an available time for service and then continue working until their appointed time.
